Schools’ duty of care to pupils

Do we have a duty of care to a year 11 pupil in school after the leaving date? The DfE says that by agreeing to have a pupil on site after the official leaving date a school is agreeing to take responsibility for him/her. The school would be expected to continue to act in loco parentis.
