Education Researcher/Writer

We are looking to recruit a researcher/writer to work alongside our team of education specialists

Salary: 
£22,000 - £26,000 pa (plus a £3,000 performance-related bonus)

We have an exciting opportunity to join the research team at Ten Professional Support in our flagship service for school leaders in England and Wales, The Key (www.usethekey.org.uk), and our service for school governors, Ten Governor Support (www.tengovernor.com).

Our team of expert researchers finds answers to our members’ questions on any issue relating to the leadership, management and governance of schools. The answers are then published as articles on our website, which can be accessed by all our members. Please see the Professional Support pages on www.tengroup.com for further information.

We are looking to recruit researchers/writers to work alongside our existing team of education specialists. You will be expected to:

  • Provide authoritative and up-to-date information in response to school leaders’ and governors’ questions using web resources and contacts across a wide range of education bodies
  • Write succinct, accurate and practical articles that will be published on our website
  • Review and update existing articles online 
  • Keep abreast of education research and policy developments by reading, attending relevant conferences and seminars, and visiting schools

A keen interest in education is vital. Experience of working in the school sector or as a school governor would be considered a plus. We are looking for candidates with research and writing experience. Your written English will be excellent. You will respond well to constructive feedback and coaching to help you improve the quality of your work. You will need strong time-management skills to meet short deadlines.

Associate education expert

Are you an education expert with substantial experience in the schools sector? Are you looking for a new challenge?

The Key is currently recruiting new experts to help it provide first class support for school and college leaders across the country. This is a freelance role that involves assisting The Key’s team of in-house researchers, putting together practical, informative answers to school leaders’ questions.

We are looking for individuals who may be or may have been headteachers, school leaders, inspectors, local authority advisers, educational consultants or specialists.

Suitable candidates will have considerable experience and knowledge of the schools sector. They may have run a school or been involved with curriculum management, staff recruitment, pupil attendance and behaviour, governance, finance, data or admissions. We would also be particularly interested to hear from candidates with experience of converter academies.

Experts need to be able to work flexibly and to short deadlines.
